Dr. Meadows is at heart a storyteller, sage, guru and touchstone. He is deeply passionate to and of the magic of the movies, the drama of the television airwaves, and the unsettling brave new world of the internet (Compuserve, AOL etc). 


He has written over 75 feature films screenplays, many of them produced*. 


Although his doctorate is in golf management, Dr. Meadows has been a student of the movies since the day he was born.  His first words were “cut to”, later revealed to be instructions to the doctor who delivered him.

I am asked this question a lot and the answer is COURIER 12, and a title page with Comic Sans for maximum impact.

A SCREENWRITING SWISS ARMY KNIFE

When I was a scout in Talahassee, growing up, I was given a very special knife by a Swiss gentleman who told me he was in the Swiss Foreign Legion and was later prevented from returning to the U.S. for various reasons. I kept that knife, and have it with me now as I write, and it is a useful metaphor for the kinds of skills we all need to make our stories sing! It it was a very simple knife, basically just the blade with a crude wooden handle, but very useful for cutting. And as everyone knows, the secret to writing is editing!
